Harry W. Harrison is a founding partner of the firm and focuses his practice on personal injury, employment, insurance and business litigation matters. Mr. Harrison has successfully prosecuted and defended numerous civil matters and is experienced in every component of a civil dispute from pre-lawsuit negotiations through trial. Throughout his career, Mr. Harrison has regularly handled business, construction, employment, environmental, insurance, personal injury, products liability, professional liability (real estate, legal, accounting, insurance) and toxic tort matters.

Prior to forming Harrison Patterson & O’Connor, Mr. Harrison’s practice primarily entailed the defense of individuals, businesses and their insurers as an associate attorney first with White, Noon & Oliver APC and then with Gordon & Rees LLP, one of San Diego’s largest law firms. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Harrison spent two years as an insurance claims adjuster for State Farm Fire & Casualty Company. During that time, Mr. Harrison handled hundreds of property and casualty claims including large-loss fire and natural disaster claims. Now, Mr. Harrison is able to draw upon his years of experience as both a civil defense attorney and insurance claims professional to provide unique insight and perspective to the representation of his clients.

Some of Mr. Harrison’s recent accomplishments include the following: he secured a multiple six-figure verdict on behalf of his client after a week long jury trial against a large, international company for claims involving workplace sexual harassment; he secured a full defense verdict for his client, a local hi-tech company, after a two-week jury trial in a significant business dispute involving claims of breach of contract and fraud; he served as lead counsel for a corporate client in a binding arbitration involving claims in excess of $200 Million and negotiated a favorable resolution for his client for substantially less than the amount demanded after 14 months of arbitration proceedings; he was chosen by his peers and colleagues as one of the Top San Diego County Attorneys for each year the firm has been in existence and named as a semifinalist in each of those years (San Diego Daily Transcript 2006, 2007 and 2008).

Mr. Harrison was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University in 1995. In 1997, Mr. Harrison moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in May 2000. That same year, Mr. Harrison was admitted to the California Bar and United States District Court (Southern and Central Districts of California). Mr. Harrison is a member of the American Inns of Court (Louis M. Welsh Chapter), Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego County Bar Association, National Eagle Scout Association and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
