Cary A. Kinkead is the newest member of the firm and focuses his practice on general business litigation, including matters related to employment and environmental compliance, as well as real estate and product liability litigation. Mr. Kinkead has extensive experience representing multi-million dollar companies in all aspects of litigation from pre-lawsuit negotiations through trial. He also represents individuals in their pursuit of consumer and personal injury claims.

Prior to joining Harrison, Patterson & O'Connor, Mr. Kinkead represented businesses involved in environmental and employment litigation as an associate with Gordon & Rees LLP, one of San Diego's most well-established law firms. His prior experience included representation of professionals, including investment, real estate and insurance brokers, as well as medical practitioners. Mr. Kinkead successfully utilizes his diverse experience to provide his client's with aggressive and cost-effective representation.

Mr. Kinkead's recent record of accomplishments include the following: complete defense for corporate client involving product liability and environmental regulatory claims and alleged damages in excess of $10 million; successful prosecution of a business dispute claim involving misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition; complete defense for insurance broker client involving claims of fraud and negligence.

Mr. Kinkead was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 from Santa Clara University, where he was a member of the Division I baseball team. In 2001, he earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law as a member of both the legal honors society and environmental law society. Also in 2001, Mr. Kinkead was admitted to the California Bar and United States District Court (Southern and Central Districts). He currently serves as a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Surfrider Foundation.
